Savoury Mexican Loaf



220g Mealie Meal

1Tbsp (15ml) baking Powder

5tsp (25ml) sugar

1 tsp SpiceMecca Peri Peri

3 eggs (x-large)

1Cup (250ml) Bulgarian yoghurt

160ml oil

1 can cream style sweetcorn

125ml chopped onion

125ml chopped green & red pepper

100g (1 cup) grated cheddar cheese

SpiceMecca Paprika powder




  1. Blend Mealie meal, baking powder and sugar and Peri Peri in a bowl.
  2. Beat eggs, yoghurt and oil. Add sweet corn, onion and green peppers. Mix.
  3. Add dry ingredients and blend well.
  4. Spoon y of mixture into a lined greased loaf tin, sprinkle with cheese then Paprika and cover with rest of mixture.
  5. Bake @ 180ºC for 40-60min (golden brown).
  6. Allow to cool & sprinkle with Paprika
